Much of the documenting of the German ancestry story in the 21st century comes down to the dovetailing of old-fashioned paper records with accessibility via the Internet and a dash of having the right books in your library.
My longtime friend André Dominguez spends a fair amount of his retirement time working on various genealogy projects. He’s an engineer by trade, so he brings a high degree of organization to tasks. Sometimes he reaches out for a bit of guidance then he’s the proverbial pit bull pursuing information from there.
Earlier this year, while working on the family of George Mohrline who ended up in York, Pennsylvania, Dominguez called me in for some methodology advice when he hit a brick wall trying to prove parentage.
