Ludwig II’s Castles
Neuschwanstein Castle, Herrenchiemsee Castle, Linderhof Castle, and the King’s House at Schachen were inscribed on the World Cultural and Natural Heritage List at the 47th session of the world cultural organization in July 2025. This means that 55 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Germany, including 52 World Cultural Heritage Sites and three World Natural Heritage Sites, are among the most important monuments in the history of mankind.
