New genealogy servicestarget research depth andfoster community

It’s been an exciting time observing the changes in the German genealogy world over the last year.


Organizations on both sides of the Atlantic produced an online “German Genealogy Resource Map” (see ON24). Then in the last few months, two separate professional outfits, the German Genealogy Headquarters and the German Genealogy Collective, were launched with enhanced opportunities for education and networking among those with German-speaking ancestry.


The German Genealogy Headquarters, with a tagline of “discover the lives behind the names!”, brings together professional genealogists Ute Brandenburg, who resides in Iowa but was educated in Germany, and Ursula C. Krause, a German native who founded My German Families and worked as a senior genealogist for Ancestry ProGenealogists.
